Glacial Rock Flour from Greenland

Strategy, demand creation and commercial foundation

Veronica joined The Rock Flour Company in February 2023 as for a year, as its first team member, brought in to build the commercial foundation under research by the geologist Minik Rosing and Dr Christiana Dietzen: glacial rock flour from Greenland as a route to permanent carbon capture and soil fertilisation.

Rock flour is one of the few permanent carbon removal routes that also improves soil, which puts it in the small set of climate solutions that address food security at the same time. Over a year Veronica led strategy, political relationships with the Greenlandic government, demand creation and market development in regenerative agriculture and across the carbon removal market and represented the company at New York Climate week.

She handed over to a permanent leadership team, which is now running trials. The science has since been covered by The Guardian and is the subject of the documentary Magic Mud.

“If you want something to have a global impact, it has to be very simple,”

Prof Minik Rosing from The University of Copenhagen, The Guardian 2023.
